The frequent association of jazz venues with late-night establishments possibly with inadequate ventilation, tobacco, maybe alcohol, has possibly kept some people from getting a chance to appreciate jazz at all, especially live up-close jazz.
At Northside Book Market, Iowa City, our Sunday 2 pm-3pm free music sessions are smoke-free, alcohol-free, and we have future openings for any jazz musicians who would like to play here. We offer the same token honorarium to all musicians, in "shop trade credit" good for any books, LP records, CDs, videos, etc.
